FISH CLEANED AND BAGGED!
The Fish of Lake Norfork
Stripers derive their name from the longitudinal stripes that run from their gills to their tails. They are a predatory sport fish, with a streamlined body. The average size is 8-12 pounds, with 30 and 40 pound catches occurring as well!
This type of fish came about from the breeding of striper, with white bass. These fish are also called: "Cherokee Bass" or Palmetto Bass", depending on the fertilization technique.
These predator fish are nocturnal feeders, with large eyes and a healthy set of teeth! Walleye spawn February through April and return to the main lake around March.
These fish are abundant throughout most of the year, however, the best action is during spawning! For this to occur, water temps must be at 64 degrees (Fahrenheit) or above. White and Black Crappie thrive in woody cover. Their meat is flavorful and sweet!
